It has been recently announced that Kyocera Connector Product Corporation has come up with a solution for tablets, smartphones and other portable electronic devices where a board to board battery connector was designed to be implemented in this application.
There is a continuous demand for larger battery capacity and quicker charging times with nearly every rechargeable device that we use nowadays. This has to be supported by more durable connector that can endure higher currents. Nevertheless, these connectors must be packed and oriented in a very tight space on the board which should be designed accordingly.
The 7129 series launched by Kyocera consists of board to board connectors that would help diminish charging times for mobile devices by rating its current all the way up to 10Amps. This resilient connector has been designed with metal guide components to support high retention and preventing misalignment mating which might damage the contacts and insulators.
The connector is now supporting Kyocera’s custom on providing customers with the most recent demands of the electronic device industry. It’s mainly known for being RoHS compliant and Halogen-free, packaged in batches of 15K units per reel and finally being space efficient due to its compact form.
Not only this, but these connectors also have a 10Amps current rating which is the main reason it would be able to charger faster, and last longer. Last but not least, mating misalignment prevention and strength of retention is more of a crucial factor with how these connectors gain an edge amongst competitors. This is accomplished by metal guiding connectors with lower profile heights which lead the connectors for a smoother and easier mating without causing any damage.
